TLDR: coala 0.5 is out. It’s great. Goes with lots of languages. Many people. More stable. Many conferences. Enjoy!
pip3 install coala-bears
Hi people!
This is the biggest release ever with contributions from over 50 people only for this release: we’re happy to announce that coala 0.5 is out of the door! Static code analysis in one interface for all languages. You can stop learning new tools now
Above all, everyone can write analysis routines (bears) now without them having to live in our official repository. Just put them in a pip package and declare coala as dependency.
The official coala-bears package (version 0.1) holds bears for more than 30 languages in addition to some algorithms that are generically applicable.
As always we strive for rock stability, coala as well as most bears are 100% unit tested on Linux, Windows and Mac. We have this since ages but added especially new integration tests and new test utilities for bear writers.
By now you can use coala to automatically review your GitHub pull requests using GitMate.
Meet us at conferences: we will be around at LinuxWochen (Vienna), PyCon (Portland), EuroPython (Bilbao), GUADEC (Kahrlsruhe) and PyCon India (New Delhi). We were around at FOSSASIA and FOSDEM earlier this year. (If you think we’re missing something important, drop us a message!)
If you want to be kept up to date, follow us on twitter! (We use this as running release note, continuously announcing features as they’re development released.)
Huge thanks go to all the new and old contributors that have made this possible. Thank you all!
